May, 2007 - Brazil

This May I traveled with Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and the CfaN team to Brazil where we ministered together in the cities of Belo Horizonte and Goiania.  Our first meetings were in the 25,000 member Lagoinha Baptist Church.  I was overwhelmed by the passion of these people and their incredible hunger for God.  At one point the roar of the crowd praising the Lord was so deafening that the ground seemed to shake beneath our feet…it was truly extraordinary.

The evangelistic crusades were held in Belo Horizonte’s city square.  Each night the grounds were packed with exuberant worshippers and people eager to hear the Word of God.  On the last night of the crusade the crowd stood for several hours in the pouring rain.  The services were broadcast across Latin America and around the world.  Each night Evangelist Bonnke’s messages were followed by hundreds of salvations and many notable miracles.

Finally, we traveled on to minister in Goiania’s 15,000 member Videira Church.  In the last service there I preached about answering the call for evangelism and then I gave an alter call.  The people pressed forward like cattle in a stampede and the power of the Holy Ghost began to hit them like lightning.  The anointing was so strong it was all I could do to stay standing myself.

I feel like this is a special time for Brazil.  The church across the country is exploding with growth. The maturity level and passion of the people is something I have rarely seen. It seems to be a national revival. Even though I went to be a blessing to Brazil, I feel as though I was the one that was truly blessed.

Together in the Harvest,

Evangelist Daniel Kolenda
